We provide a range of commercial, property and programme and project management services to our colleagues in the Scottish Government and wider public sector in Scotland.

Key responsibilities

Our role is to:

  • Lead and enable public sector procurement reform in Scotland
  • Deliver savings and benefits through improved procurement and commercial management of contracts, both in collaboration with the wider public sector and for core Scottish Government
  • Lead on procurement policy, developing tools and support to ensure that intelligent, professional procurement and contract management influences the whole lifecycle of public service provision in Scotland – from policy development through project management, to frontline service delivery
  • Provide a high quality professional property support service
  • Support commercial awareness and contribute to the Scottish Government Capability Plan workstreams on commercial and procurement skills and programme and project management
  • Provide a focal point for programme and project management, encouraging the capture and dissemination of lessons learned and managing the Scottish Government’s independent programme and project assurance processes
